Guilderland Planning Board will meet on April 22

GUILDERLAND — The town’s planning board will meet at the town hall on April 22 at 7 p.m.

 Members of the public may listen and view the meeting live on Verizon channel 34 and Spectrum channel 1303, on the town website, and may dial 518-579-3721 to participate in a conference call. This is following the governor’s executive orders, allowing board meetings as long as the public can watch.

Several projects will be considered:

— Bottisti, Staats & Messere’s two-lot minor subdivision at 300 Prout Lane;

— Gleason’s three-lot minor subdivision at 6630 Fuller Station Road; and

— Stor-Away at Western Avene, a self-storage facility at 2501 and 2505 Western Ave.

  • The board at its March 4 meeting unanimously approved the project as well as a variance request from the town zoning code that would require the new structures to be set back 100 feet from the single-family lots on either side of the property.

  • The board’s unanimous Feb. 4 vote overturned a building permit issued for a fence running along a shared driveway between the historic Norman Vale home and property at 3 Norman Vale Lane.

  • The issue the applicant ran into was the town’s zoning code does not allow construction within the 250-foot setback to watercourses — in this case, the Bozenkill — feeding the Watervliet Reservoir.
