VILLAGE NOTES.

A New Flag Assured.

The question of patriotism brought about by the dilapidated condition of the American flag displayed in our public park during the past winter has given rise to many queries as to why a new flag has not been purhcased by some philanthropic person or one of the societies of Altamont. During the week arrangements have been made to start a subscription for the purchase of a suitable flag. Persons desiring to help along the cause may leave contributions with John P. Ogsbury, cashier of the First National Bank.
