SHALL ALTAMONT ADOPT
ADVANCED TIME?
Daylight saving time is now in effect in the cities of the Capital district, and many villages have adopted the advanced time. Altamont has yet to make up its mind on this question. From many angles it would seem that this village should adopt the new time schedule to be in harmony with the city time, as a large percentage of our citizens are in business in either of the larger cities.

This question should be taken up seriously by someone, so that our village board could be informed of the public’s wishes in the matter. The proper manner in which to put advanced time in effect in Altamont is for the village board to pass an ordinance to that effect, making advancement time official. We are told that two of the three members of the board are in favor of adopting such an ordinance. That being the case, if a petition signed by a sufficient number of residents were presented to the board, the ordinance would doubtless be passed. Why not start such a petition? Don’t “let George do it!” Do it yourself!

DELMAR

Possibly after a few more accidents at the “Four Corners,” Delmar may realize the necessity of a traffic signal of some kind at that dangerous intersection of roads.

MIDDLEBURGH WOMAN FOUND
DROWNED IN SCHOHARIE

Mrs. Wellington Bouck of Middleburgh committed suicide by drowning yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Bouck with her husband lived in the dwelling opposite the creamery, and the rest of the property is on the Schoharie creek. She was missed from her home Thursday afternoon, and upon a search being made for her about the premises, a rope was noticed tied to a tree. Investigation revealed the tragedy, for attached to the rope was her body in the water. The river at this time of year is quite deep.
