To the Editor:

The signs of spring are hanging from the telephone poles — those beautiful “Welcome to Altamont” banners. They may have jump-started our craving for other signs, like the cute crocuses, delightful daffodils, the terrific tulips — and the annual Altamont Green and Clean!

As it has over the last decade, Altamont Community Tradition will be sponsoring this rewarding community effort to get our wonderful village in shape for the season on Saturday, April 18. Come join your fellow villagers in Orsini Park around 9 a.m. to start sprucing up Orsini, Angel, and Schilling parks.

Bring your gloves and gardening tools for the group effort or join your neighbors to clean up your own block. For more information, go to www.altamontcomunnitytradition.org.

As a collective community effort, it’s always a fun day! Cleaning up and beautifying our streets and parks is a truly satisfying feeling. We’ll be counting on beautiful weather as we all get back outside to see each other after our long, cold winter. Come join us!
