Full house: Patrons enjoy a Maple Festival breakfast with unlimited pancakes smothered in locally produced syrup. The annual event is the year’s biggest fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club of of the Helderbergs and is scheduled for March 26 this year.

To the Editor:

Kiwanis Club of the Helderbergs is celebrating maple syrup season with its annual Maple Festival pancake breakfast on Sunday, March 26, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Knox firehouse at 2198 Berne-Altamont Road, (use Altamont NY 12009 for GPS).

This is the club’s big fundraiser for the year, and all of the money we raise will be used to benefit children and community projects.

Enjoy all-you-can-eat pancakes, locally-made maple syrup, sausage, eggs, applesauce, ice cream, coffee, and juice for $8; kids 6 to 12 years old eat for $4; kids 5 and under eat for free.

We’ll also have crafts, vendors, homemade goodies, $5 pony rides, a petting zoo, and fun kids' activities!  Take a free tour map and brochure, and visit three different maple producers, each with different syrup processing methods.  Maple farm tours are open from 10 a.m. to  4 p.m.

Call (518) 618-5376 or visit www.Hilltowns.org and click on Maple Weekend for more information.
