Hotel would be a seamless part of Western Avenue business

To the Editor:

I am so excited to hear that the Pyramid Management Group is planning to add a state-of-the-art hotel to Crossgates Mall. I spend a lot of my time volunteering for town organizations and organizing community fundraisers, and having a hotel in the town that would accommodate local businesses, residents, future residents, and guests would be great and is long overdue.

A number of our youth sports programs hold fundraisers that attract many out-of-area teams, and having a hotel to refer them to in our town would be nice. As an example, Guilderland Youth lacrosse holds an Armed Forces Day Jamboree each year in May, and they attract about 25 out-of-area teams. Accommodating 25 out-of-area teams, and their families in our town while supporting local businesses during their stay is a no-brainer.

I live near the mall, and feel an addition like the hotel would be a seamless part of normal everyday business conducted along Western Avenue. Kudos to the Pyramid Management Group for thinking of Guilderland for this exciting addition to our community and their mall.
