Pine Bush Preserve invites you to Discover the Night

The great horned owl — the tiger of the sky — can meow like a cat, bark and growl like a dog, coo like a dove, hiss like a snake, and shriek like a banshee as well as, of course, hooting.

The public is invited this month by the Pine Bush Preserve to, among other activities, listen to night noises.

“Our team of remarkable educators have worked hard to provide programs and special activities that are safe and fun learning experiences,” said Executive Director Christopher Hawver in a release. “Discover the Night is an exceptional educational resource for adults, families and teachers who are searching for ways to engage with us and the natural world. We encourage everyone to explore some of the areas that interest you and discover all that is extraordinary about the Albany Pine Bush.”  

A free Discover the Night activity kit will be available for pick up from Feb. 19 to 25 at the Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center while supplies last. The Discovery Center is located at 195 New Karner Road in Albany and is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday to Sunday 10 a.m. to4 p.m.
