Local authors to demystify indie publishing

To the Editor:

It can certainly be a challenge to put together a literary work. But for some of us, the thought of publishing that work can be as daunting as composing it, maybe even a little scarier. (The phrase “unsolicited manuscript” leaps to mind.)

Thank goodness for the existence of the independent-publishing world! But this can also be shrouded in secrecy, conjuring thoughts of “vanity” publishing that used to be considered only for the elite and wealthy.

On Friday night, Jan. 18, the Berne Public Library will host a program to help writers and aspiring authors demystify the process of independently publishing their books.  Please join us on Jan. 18 at 6:30 p.m.

Two local authors will share their indie experiences and answer your questions. Signed copies of their books, “The Summer Girl,” and “From The Beginning” will be available for purchase.
