ALTAMONT — “Donald H. Scrafford, 96, peacefully passed on to Heaven on March 29, 2026,” his family wrote in a tribute. “He has gone to be with Bobbie, his wife of 64 years.”

VOORHEESVILLE — David “Dave” S. Symula, a revered math teacher who loved music, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, after a long illness.

VOORHEESVILLE — Michael W. Moran, a Vietnam veteran who enjoyed fishing and hunting, died on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, after an extended illness. He was 83.

He grew up in Voorheesville and graduated from Voorheesville’s high school in 1961. He served in the United States Navy in Vietnam on the USS Harry Hubbard.

ALTAMONT — Sylvia M. Aylward, a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, died peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Joann L. (née Kiefer) Marnell, of Exeter Township in Pennsylvania, was raised in the Helderberg Hilltowns. Her main focus was caring for her children until her greatest joy arrived — her two grandsons.

She died in the morning hours of Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Complete Care at Berkshire. She was 73.

Gloria June Bourque

WESTMERE — A family matriarch who provided wisdom and support to those she loved, Gloria (née Smith) Bourque had a knack for winning contests, loved music and dancing, and treasured family time at a lakeside cottage.

She died on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. She was 95.

SUMMERFIELD, Fla. — Edward Floyd White, a World War II veteran, was a skilled machinist who became a plant manager. A kind and patient man, he loved traveling with his wife.

He died peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, March 5, 2026, in Summerfield, Florida. He was 98.

VOORHEESVILLE — John F. Smith, who had a deep interest in music, radio, communications, and technology, died after a sudden illness on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was 77.

HILLTOWNS — Bruce James Larsen died on Monday, March 9, peacefully at home, surrounded by family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born on Aug. 7, 1949, he was 76.

“Bruce was, in every sense of the phrase, one of the last real men,” his family wrote in a tribute.
