ALTAMONT — It all started from a phone call. A neighbor noticed that cars were coming and picking up packages that had been delivered to a house that was vacant and for sale. The neighbor called the Altamont Police.

"We shift to a mindset of focusing on what the student can do, not what the student can’t do," said Demian Singleton, explaining the school district's focus on inclusion.

Michael is a wisp of a boy with intelligent brown eyes. He has cerebral palsy. At Altamont Elementary, he has been taken out of a self-contained classroom and become part of a general class.

Schools need to cultivate the best in each student.

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Chamber of Commerce is offering shared workspaces for local businesses looking for a home or individuals looking for a temporary office.

The fire, said the release, grew substantially within minutes, and caused damage to the bathtub and surrounding areas.

“I made my plans clear back in September or October that I planned to retire around Thanksgiving,” said Kenneth Runion.

ALTAMONT — Those close to Reverend Robert Luidens — who will soon be retiring as pastor of the Altamont Reformed Church after 31 years — will tell you about his dedication to visiting people confined to a hospital or a nursing home or their own home.

Carman will be the only Republican member of the town board, the first since Mark Grimm and Warren Redlich decided not to run for re-election in 2012. He and Centi join Democrats Paul Pastore and Patricia Slavick.

GUILDERLAND — An Altamont man was arrested last week for selling alcohol to a minor.
