Guilderland is a wonderful town, a great place to live, a model of just what a town should be in many ways. To keep it that way, though, the people of Guilderland need a vision for the future, a sense of what they want their town to look like, what characteristics they want it to have.

GUILDERLAND — Over the course of about 90 minutes on Monday, the nine members of Guilderland’s Comprehensive Plan Update Committee received a broad outline about how the next 16 months would play out.

The Guilderland School Board at its next meeting, on Nov. 15, will discuss the possibility of having a second school resource officer.

“Whether there’s going to be a recession or downturn, who knows but we have to plan for the worst and hope for the best,” said Supervisor Peter Barber.

This past weekend, Thursday Nov. 3 to Nov. 5, the Guilderville and Helderberg Valley girls swim teams took to the pool in hopes to qualify for Nov. 17-18 NYSPHSAA championships at Webster High School, just outside Rochester. Helderberg Valley’s Maura O’Donnell will compete in two events.
