In a town where there are nearly twice as many voters enrolled as Democrats than as Republicans, the GOP is running two candidates for town board and one for town justice.

Last Thursday, Oct. 5, the Guilderland girls’ volleyball team hosted an important Suburban Council matchup against the Blue Devils of Columbia. With sectionals right around the corner, the Dutch fought hard against the Blue Devils in the three-game sweep win; 25-19, 25-17, 25-13.
Several residents at Altamont’s Oct. 3 public hearing for its proposed chicken law were in favor of allowing chickens in the village, advising the board on specific changes they thought would be beneficial. Mayor Kerry Dineen said that the public hearing would remain open, in part because the board learned that a legal notice was not printed in the paper.
ALTAMONT — Donald George Knaggs, owner of Knaggs Brothers Trucking, died at his Altamont home on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, after a battle with cancer. He was 69.
He was born in Schenectady on Dec. 16, 1953, the first of three children of the late Oscar and Joan Knaggs. He graduated from Guilderland High School.
