GUILDERLAND - School district voters here gave a resounding yes on Tuesday to a $27 million building renovation project.





GUILDERLAND - After years of waiting and planning and revising, the Rubins were given permits to build a bigger Shabbos House in McKownville by a unanimous vote of the town's zoning board last Wednesday.





GUILDERLAND - Developer Brandon Quadrini won't be able to build eight two-story English Tudor-style townhouses on Ashford Drive as he had planned.

The town board last Thursday unanimously denied his request for a re-zone.





GUILDERLAND - In recent years, budget hearings held by the all-Democratic town board have been short and quiet. That changed with last Tuesday's upset election by two Republicans to the board.



ALBANY COUNTY - Having made its first appearance in the state this fall in Voorheesville, Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease has now been confirmed elsewhere in Albany County and in some neighboring counties.





BERNE - Later in his life, Harold E. Lendrum's mission was to preserve farmland, said his son, Kenneth Lendrum.

BKW proposes $12.7M in renovations



BERNE - On Dec. 18, the school district's voters will decide on a bond issue for a $12.7 million plan to renovate the Berne-Knox-Westerlo elementary and middle-high school buildings.





HILLTOWNS - A campaign ad that ran in last week's Enterprise caught a local developer off guard.
"I was shocked when I saw The Enterprise," said Jeff Thomas.

RENSSELAERVILLE - "We lost," said Republican Supervisor Jost Nickelsberg early Wednesday morning, after the polls had closed.

Unchallenged, Democrats roll on



WESTERLO - With a dormant Republican party, Westerlo offered no challengers to the Democrats this year. Six Democrats ran without opposition; all but one of them are long-time incumbents.
