It’s business as usual for the Voorheesville Blackbirds boys’ volleyball team. The defending regional champions haven’t lost a match in a year and a half, winning 31 matches straight. The Birds were undefeated all last year and so far this year, the team has a perfect season, 10-0.

It was a perfect setting for the Voorheesville Blackbirds last Saturday evening. The regional championship was played at home, before an enthusiastic crowd, and the team was 19 and 0.

It was business as usual for the Voorheesville boys’ volleyball team in the Class C/D sectional semifinal and final.

On point all season, the Voorheesville boys’ volleyball team has a 9-0 record and haven’t lost a set yet. Last Thursday evening, the Blackbirds took on Taconic Hills at home.

Opening up the season undefeated, 4-0, the Voorheesville Blackbirds boys’ basketball team showed its strength on Tuesday evening at home against Cobleskill-Richmondville.

Guilderland preserved its stellar record this season, largely with a strong defense against Bethlehem in the Class AA sectional quarter final. The Dutch won, 12 to 7.

Blackbirds lose first conference game on Jan. 8 to Lansingburgh.
