State funds have been awarded for roads in New Scotland and Berne, part of a $27.8 million package to repair 134.2 lane miles of state roads across the Capital Region this summer and fall.

Paving and repair work will take place on:

New Scotland is beginning its search for a consultant to help make its idea of a hamlet center a reality.

Another new development is planned for New Scotland — a 22-lot subdivision off Route 85.

The state’s Department of Transportation is repairing pavement this month on Route 85 and Route 9W in Albany County.

Work on Route 85 began on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the Berne-Westerlo town line and runs seven miles east to the intersection of Route 85 and Route 157 in the town of New Scotland.
