MEDUSA — Described by his family as a loving father and adoring grandfather, Arthur C. Pizzigati was an Army veteran who worked as a craftsman and salesman. He died unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 18, 2014.

After Birth is not a memoir, but the author's second novel got its impetus from her own experience as a new mother moving to a new town. It is set to be published in February.

The 12-year-old Greenville student who died last month was undergoing treatment for a brain tumor when the July 19 event was scheduled by the Medusa Volunteer Fire Company.

The first annual Rensselaerville Cycling Festival, coming up in September, is led by Tyler Wren, who races professionally all over the world.

The sun’s light and residents of the town’s hamlets filled the bays of the highway garage on the first day of June in Rensselaerville for a town-wide picnic.

RENSSELAERVILLE — A spring festival in the Medusa hamlet weaves together strands of the community every year to raise funds for the fire company. This year, it will feature talks by prominent local speakers, a business fair, and a “kids’ art lab.”

Marie Dermody, a former supervisor in Rensselaerville who helps edit the publication, defended the disputed information in its April issue by saying it is true.

"How delicate and strong something can be at the same time," said Dawn O'Neal, speaking of the birds she studies, but perhaps inadvertently referencing herself. She recently became the Huyck Preserve's newest executive director.

The clarifications to ethics board procedures discussed with the town's attorney had the overarching goals of keeping the length and cost of investigations down and included the question of whether or not and how defendants should be reimbursed for attorney's fees.

MEDUSA — A farmer, horse rider, and highway worker, Galen Chase had plenty of love and humor for friends and family.

Galen B. Chase Sr. of Medusa died, after a long, courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, with his loving family at his side. He was 61.
