Without a town planner for over a year, Guilderland is considering several large projects as residents express concerns.

At its Dec. 13 meeting, the New Scotland Town Board dealt with a long-running issue.

A draft of a new plan for zoning the hamlet of New Scotland was presented to the town board on Thursday, Nov. 30.

The New Scotland Planning Board dropped its appeal to the zoning board over the building inspector’s determination as to what constitutes a flashing sign, after the town board’s passing of a new law rendered the appeal moot.

On the brink of approval, a developer for senior housing is backing out, concerned over the cost of pollution cleanup.
