New Scotland is beginning its search for a consultant to help make its idea of a hamlet center a reality.

Creekside is one of many proposed subdivisions in New Scotland, and, although the project has been on the table for years, it is far from approval.

The New Scotland Town Board extended a water district at their meeting last Wednesday, and also chose an option for fixing Krumkill Road.

The good old days and ways were on display in Clarksville Saturday.

Another new development is planned for New Scotland — a 22-lot subdivision off Route 85.

Construction will have a small section of Route 85A closed this weekend. It will close Saturday morning and reopen Sunday evening.

The public hearing was finally closed for a application for a kennel on Unionville-Feura Bush Road in New Scotland, after the board heard from people both in support of and against it.

A county park long in disuse has been revitalized thanks to efforts from county officials and a team of volunteers. Now, Lawson Lake is available for kids from all over the county to enjoy.

Another crash on State Route 32 has citizens, and the town of New Scotland, once again calling for action to be taken by the state DOT to improve the safety of the road.

VOORHEESVILLE — Hardworking and strong, Marie R. Russell was also creative. She worked for a quarter of a century as a laboratory technician in bacteriology for the state’s Department of Health and was also highly skilled at a wide variety of crafts.

She died on Saturday, July 19, 2014. She was 91.
