NEW SCOTLAND — News that the LeVie barn was slated to come down for future development fanned the flames of a public interest in rescuing the historic building, said New Scotland Councilman Daniel Mackay, and last-minute buyers may still save the day.

The councilman who championed saving a mammoth historic barn was near tears as he told the town board there was no one interested in paying to have it moved.

Amid fears of the LeVie Barn's demolition, an opportunity arises for it to be moved to a new location.
