jury trial

Jury trials for DWI are not rare in Guilderland, according to Clerk to the Justices Jennifer Stephens.

BETHLEHEM — After a jury trial, Lina Michaels, 32, of Delmar, was found guilty of driving while intoxicated per se, a felony, and driving while ability impaired, a misdemeanor.

The trial was presided over by Debra J. Young in Albany County Court on March 9.

In April, André McCauley had been found guilty after a jury trial of one count of first-degree attempted assault, a violent felony.

NEW SCOTLAND — A jury trial here is scheduled in July for Marcia Pangburn, arrested in Berne last summer for resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.

A transfer request was made because both judges in Berne recused themselves to avoid the appearance of impropriety and to "insure the appearance of fairness" in Marcia Pangburn's case, in which she is charged with resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.

A rare jury trial was held in Guilderland for Amanda Bisnett's drunken-driving charges.

KNOX — Dwayne Rockenstyre was sentenced to pay $845 after he was found guilty of a lesser driving-while-ability-impaired charge in a jury trial in June, with Judge James Corigliano presiding.
