Jury finds Bisnett guilty of drunk-driving charges

GUILDERLAND — Amanda Bisnett was found guilty of two drunk driving charges, both misdemeanors, on Feb. 11, after a rare jury trial in the Guilderland Town Court.

Bisnett, 26, of Schenectady, was stopped at a driving-while-intoxicated checkpoint off of Exit 25 on the New York State Thruway in Guilderland, on Dec. 28, 2012, and failed standard field sobriety tests, according to a release from the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.

She registered a blood alcohol content of .14 and was arrested.

Bisnett was found guilty of one count of driving while intoxicated per se and one count of refusal driving while intoxicated, both misdemeanors, in front of Judge Denise Randall.

She was released on her own recognizance pending a sentencing date and faces up to a year in custody.

Assistant District Attorney Megan Spillane is handling Bisnett’s prosecution.
