ALBANY COUNTY — The Albany County Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail may be restricted or temporarily closed at various times for three days, beginning at 7 a.m. on Thursday, May 14.

The area to be affected is adjacent to the Good Samaritan Nursing Home near Rockefeller Road.

The old railroad bridge that runs over Route 85 in Slingerlands and is now part of the Albany County Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail is due to be replaced by the summer of 2020.

Albany County is in the early stages of deciding what to do with the old railroad bridge that runs over New Scotland Road in Slingerlands.

The Capital District Transportation Committee has a plan to connect the multi-use trails of Albany, Schenectady, Rensselaer, and Saratoga counties into a single network. A report found that, on nine of the trails, there were 1.6 million visits in 2016.
 

Hilton Barn, New Scotland, New York

The 120-year-old Hilton Barn was lowered to its new foundation Monday, moved across the street last March to save it from demolition. New Scotland Supervisor Doug LaGrange said he hopes to eventually see the barn connect with the Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail and use it as a venue.
