The 21-page proposal for the Helderberg Earth and Sky Observatory came with preliminary drawings of a double-domed building housing two telescopes and a “large wrap-around observation deck.”
Terrice Bassler, a Berne native who has spent a career working on building education in developing nations across the world, will lead a group to work on the large project for a small town.
Berne’s Game Farm Road project is well underway. The Berne Town Board requested candidates for positions to a project board that, together with the town board, will oversee the property’s development.
The town of Berne is inviting nominations for membership to the Board of the Game Farm Road Project. This will be a working board comprised of seven individuals both eager and interested in the future of the property and its uses.
