ALBANY COUNTY — The public is invited to become inaugural Five Rivers “5Rs” this fall.

On a beautiful April 28 evening, 15 teams participated in the third annual Amazing Earth Day Race organized by the Friends of Five Rivers at the Five Rivers Environmental Education Center in Delmar.

The new building will incorporate features like a vegetative roof and the use of gray water systems.

Family Danz Mechanical LLC of Albany was the low bidder for heating and ventilation work at Five Rivers Environmental Education Center in Delmar, according to a release from the state’s Office of General Services.

Kids here got a chance on Saturday to do what adults across the Americas have been doing for 115 years — going afield in the winter for the annual Christmas Bird Count.
