Family Danz gets contract for Five Rivers work

Family Danz Mechanical LLC of Albany was the low bidder for heating and ventilation work at Five Rivers Environmental Education Center in Delmar, according to a release from the state’s Office of General Services.

The Family Danz bid was $461,965 for work on the visitors’ building. Ted Danz, founder of Family Danz, a former Guilderland Republican Party chairman, has been active in local politics, making unsuccessful runs for Albany County Legislature; the State Assembly; and in, 2010, for Congress against Paul Tonko.

Other low bidders for work at the Five Rivers site include AOW Associates Inc. of Albany for construction work, Lacorte Companies Inc. of Troy for electrical work, and DiGesare Mechanical Inc. of Schenectady for plumbing work.

The contracts are expected to be awarded to the low bidders after review and approval by the State Comptroller’s Office.
