BERNE — The Berne-Knox-Westerlo Parent-Teacher Association will host the second annual Jean Forti Run for Education 5K and Family Fun Run on Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Thompson's Lake Campground.  A new course has been designed for participants to follow.

Artifacts were hard to come by in creating an exhibit of the Altamont Free Library’s 100-year history because it moved so often. So exhibit's curator relied on text.

Back in June 1986, this newspaper reported that the annual Pucker Street Fair had been a bit wet “but the show went on.”

Kids and their parents at the fair will have a chance to test their fearlessness by holding an eight-foot boa constrictor or petting an 18-pound lizard. It’s all done to show them that they don’t need to fear reptiles, says Adam Bornt of Uncharted Wild.
