BETHLEHEM — The Black Friday Fair Trade Market, a two-day event in Delmar, has become a Thanksgiving weekend tradition.

BETHLEHEM — Michael Rozell, 37, of Delmar was sentenced on Tuesday to six years in state prison, to be followed by five years of probation.

On Aug. 1, Rozell pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted burglary, a felony.

He was sentenced on Tuesday by Judge William A. Carter in Albany County Court.

Two local residents are among the 192 new members of the State Police: Trooper Joseph Turoski of Voorheesville, and Trooper Megan Lohman of Delmar.

Both were honored at the 205th session graduation ceremony from the Basic School of the New York State Police Academy was held on Wednesday, May 10.

Thomas Brown of Guilderland, 20, had a passion for driving fast. He died Saturday morning in a one-vehicle crash in Delmar, driving the car that, by all accounts, he loved.

BETHLEHEM —  Joseph Giacone of Delmar is a member of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute football team. Giacone, a senior, has helped the Engineers to a strong start through the first two weeks of the season, including a win at Norwich University the first week.
