Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs boys took to the lanes and the court on Friday afternoon in critical Western Athletic Conference games early in the season. The basketball team played Middleburgh in a packed gym at home and battled in the second half to hold onto a 63-to-58 win.

Starting off on the right foot: Berne-Knox-Westerlo boys’ basketball team played Friday evening at home at full strength for the first time all season — football injuries had earlier sidelined several players. The Bulldogs beat Fort Plain High School decisively — 76 to 52.

On Friday evening, Dec. 16, Berne-Knox-Westerlo hosted Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons at home, holding their own for the first half but then losing, 81 to 58.
