Berne-Knox-Westerlo Sports

On Tuesday, April 1, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo baseball squad had its 2025 home season against Watervliet. The Bulldogs fell behind, 4 to 0, after two innings but chipped away and walked it off in the bottom of the seventh to win, 5 to 4, on a cold and windy day.

The undefeated Berne-Knox-Westerlo boys’ basketball team traveled to Binghamton and captured the schools’ first-ever state championship. On Friday, the Bulldogs started out quick and pulled away to win, 70 to 46, over Section 1’s Tuckahoe. Then on Saturday evening, the Bulldogs used a strong second half to take the title in their 63-to-47 win over Honeoye. In that victory, Shane Kirker had his 1,000th point.

On Sunday, March 9, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo boys’ basketball team, the top seed in Class C, faced off against a familiar foe in Duanesburg. The Bulldogs faced the Eagles twice this year and won.
