Woman assailed while walking her dog

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Police Department is investigating after a woman walking her dog on Terry Avenue on Saturday was approached by a man demanding money.

According to the police, the victim was walking her dog around 9 p.m., when an unknown male came up to her and demanded she give him all of her money. A scuffle occurred, and the man ran off, without taking anything.

The victim was examined by Guilderland Emergency Medical Services, and suffered no injuries.

The woman described her assailant as being tall, having a raspy voice, and wearing a baseball cap backwards.

There was a limited description, said Captain Curtis Cox, because, “it was just so dark, and the victim covered her own face.”

The Guilderland Police Department has a person of interest in the case, and Cox said the investigation is ongoing.
