Stempel teaches midshipmen at MIT

Lieutenant Nathan Stempel

Lieutenant Nathan Stempel, a native of East Berne and graduate of Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School, has just completed a three-year tour of service aboard the USS Louisville (SSN-724).

The USS Louisville is a nuclear-powered Los Angeles class fast-attack submarine.

Stempel was awarded a Navy Commendation Medal for his leadership and accomplishments while serving aboard USS Louisville.

He has now transferred to a shore command and has accepted orders teaching midshipmen Naval Engineering and Naval Weapon Systems at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass.
