GUILDERLAND — The Book House of Stuyvesant Plaza will celebrate its new location and 50th anniversary on Independent Book Store Day, Saturday, April 25.

The shop has returned to the place in the plaza where it opened in 1975 between two new venues, Sur La Table and Athleta.

Michael Burns, author of “Nervous Rex,” will be on hand at 11 a.m., followed by T. Kira Madden, author of “Whidbey,” and Che Yeun, author of “Tailbone,” from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Kids can have their faces painted from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and refreshments will be served throughout the day.

Readers can go on a “blind date with a book,” receiving a free mystery title with any $10 purchase. One lucky, discerning guest who uncovers the hidden Golden Ticket will take home 12 audiobooks from Libro.fm.
