Celebrate VRCC legacy on April 29 at first membership meeting

To the Editor:

Join us for the first Voorheesville Running and Cycling Club Membership Meeting on April 29 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall at 31 Voorheesville Avenue. This meeting is open to everyone — members, non-members, friends, and community supporters are all welcome.

It will be a special evening dedicated to honoring the past and inspiring the future of VRCC. This gathering will celebrate major milestones — 50 years of the Memorial Day Races and 10 years of Bike Day — and reflect on the stories behind how these beloved events began.

We’ll recognize the individuals who have shaped VRCC over the years, with founders Herb and Sue Reilly and their family joining us for the celebration. Together, we’ll look back on key moments in our history and highlight the collective effort that has made these Voorheesville traditions endure.

We’ll also look ahead to what’s coming up this year across VRCC’s signature events, starting with Bike Day on May 3, right around the corner. We’ll share plans for the Memorial Day Race, preview the Glow Sport Festival this October, and talk about what’s shaping up to be an exciting season.

Along the way, we’ll welcome fresh ideas and perspectives as we continue working together to make these events memorable for everyone involved.

Pizza will be provided, and we’ll wrap up the evening with a raffle, so come hungry and plan to stay for some fun.

VRCC Vice President
