Local law firm helps teachers buy supplies

To the Editor:

I wanted to shine a light on a local business that for the past five years has been very generous to Guilderland teachers.

In August, the law firm of Monaco, Cooper, Lamme, & Carr have asked Guilderland teachers to share an Amazon wishlist via a Facebook comment, and the firm purchases what they can from the lists they receive.

This has gotten so big that they usually have to have a cut-off point once they receive so many.

This year, things are a bit different in that teachers simply had to comment “Back to School” on the Facebook post, and the first 90 teachers received a $50 Amazon gift card. One teacher was also the lucky winner of a $500 gift card.

Myself and so many of my colleagues look forward to this amazing act of kindness as we gear up for a new school year. It is a fantastic way to transition back to school mode. Thank you, MCLC, for all you do for teachers and our community!
