Be open to dialog rather than judging

To the Editor:

An open letter to the “Karen” who chose to comment about my DOGE hat at Stewart’s in Altamont on Saturday morning, June 28.

I have no idea who you are or why you decided to comment about my hat.

First, what business is it of yours what hat I wear.

Second, you made an incorrect assumption that I wore that hat to a funeral. I didn’t.

Third, you chose to not enter into meaningful conversation with me, but chose to complain to one of my friends regarding your opinion of what is improper clothing to wear to a funeral.

I am sorry your life is so petty that you had to stick your nose where it doesn’t belong and make unsolicited and unwelcome comments based on a total lack of knowledge of who I am, and what I stand for.

Maybe next time you decide to involve yourself in someone else’s business you can be open enough to actually sit down and have an enlightening dialog with them. You just might learn something. One can only hope.
