Save the dates:  This July marks the 81st Annual Punkintown Fair! The fair is a family-oriented event that has been organized by the New Salem Volunteer Fire Department since 1942.

This year’s fair will be held on July 17, 18, and 19 at the fairgrounds across from the New Salem firehouse at 694 New Salem Road (Route 85A) starting at 6 p.m. each night. This year’s fair will feature a variety of rides and games for all ages from toddlers to adults.

Please join us on all three days as we celebrate the time-honored tradition of the Punkintown Fair! As always, parking and admission are free, and the food is excellent!  

This year’s sponsors are Ayers Automotive, Ballston Spa National Bank, Carl’s Advance Automotive and Repair Center, Satch Sales, Family Danz Heating and Cooling, and Rentals To Go.  Sponsoring fireworks again the last night of the fair is Jimco Painting.

This year’s raffle includes cash prizes of $2,000 for first prize, $1,000 for second prize, and $500 for our third-prize winner. There will also be many additional prizes added to the drawing this year with the support of New Salem’s Auxiliary members and the community.

The drawing will be held at the close of the fair on Saturday night and you need not be present to win.  All proceeds from the fair and raffle will be used to update fire and rescue equipment providing services to the residents of the district.

As a community on opening night, all veterans, the men and women who served honorably on active duty or are currently serving in the armed forces, along with remembering our fellow Americans who have paid the ultimate sacrifice all of which are so deserving of our recognition, respect and gratitude, will be honored.
