GUILDERLAND — Sylvia A. Mosall, a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025. She was 81.

She was born in Whitehall, New York, the 11th child of the late Henry and Carrie Weber.

“After raising her family, she retired from New York State Criminal Justice Services,” her family wrote in a tribute. “She enjoyed doing word-search books, doing ceramic activities, and being with her family.”

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Douglas Mosall; her children: Douglas M. Mosall, Robert H. Mosall, William J. Mosall, and Kim (Thomas) Cox; six grandchildren: Elizabeth, Matthew, Carly, Amanda, Christopher, and Kayla; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents died before her, as did her daughter Barbara, and her siblings: Albert, Harry, Richard, John, William, Evelyn, Marion, Ruth, Betty, and Laura.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend her funeral services at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie.

“The family would like to thank the staff of St. Peter’s Hospital and Our Lady of Mercy for the care given to Sylvia and the family,” the tribute said.
