BERNE — Joshua Adams, a carpenter who spread love, laughter, and kindness, died suddenly surrounded by his loving family on Monday, Nov. 25, 2024. He was 52.

He was born on Sept. 8, 1972 in Albany.

“Joshua was a carpenter by trade and passionate about his work, excited to work on projects within the community,” his family wrote in a tribute. “He enjoyed the camaraderie with fellow workers, whether it was building, firewood, snow plowing or just lending a helping hand.

“Joshua had the gift of spreading love, laughter, kindness and could light up a room with his smile. He was always in the moment, there for anyone who needed him and would never ask for anything in return.

“Josh had a passion for music, going to concerts near or far to meet up with friends. He was an avid fan of the Grateful Dead, going to numerous shows around the country.

“Joshua was a proud uncle, and a loving son, partner, and brother.

“Joshua will always be remembered with much love by his parents, Janet and Terry Adams; his sisters, Krista and Lisa; his nieces, Emma and Autumn; and his loving partner, Cora Cox. He is leaving behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who have loved him dearly.”

Services will be held on Dec. 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Reformed Church at 1663 Helderberg Trail in Berne.

“We encourage you to say a few words about Josh if you are moved to do so,” his family wrote.

Directly following, a celebration of life will be held at the Shell Inn Restaurant at 4520 Route 85 in Rensselaerville.
