School spirit helps bring us all together

To the Editor:
I have a hard time deciding which sport I like best. In the winter it’s definitely basketball, and in the spring. it’s baseball, for sure.

Both sports are very different and a lot of fun. We learn a lot of unique skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting for basketball as well as hitting, pitching, and base-running for baseball.

When I don’t have practice after school, I don’t know what to do with myself. I enjoy spending time with my friends and also making new friends. The coaches help us improve our skills and make us a better team.

My parents love to go to the games and watch us use all the skills that we are learning. They even go to many of the varsity basketball games to cheer on the Bulldogs. The gym is packed for most of the games and the School Resource Officer is there to help keep us all safe.

School spirit helps bring us all together and my dad says playing sports builds character. I don’t know if that’s true, but it sure is a lot of fun.
