— Mr. Wedekind has built a new porch on his house, which is a great improvement.
VILLAGE NOTES
— The Young Women’s Christian association camp at Altamont will not be opened this season. Conferences scheduled here annually will be held at Camp Maqua, Maine.
— Cornell Ostrander, who sustained injuries while at work unloading a car of grain at Hayes & Co.’s mill about three weeks ago, is able to be on the street again, but unable to return to work. While recovering he is drawing compensation from the State Insurance Fund.
— A. F. Dietz, who sustained quite serious injuries while driving his automobile in Altamont a few weeks ago, is still confined to his bed, but is improving slowly.
— Extensive sidewalk improvements are being made in front of Makely’s garage on Maple avenue. A concrete driveway from curb to building sloped to make easy access to gas and air tanks, is under construction this week. The new gas tanks were installed some time ago. The present improvement is a part of the progressive plans of Mr. Makely to make his garage the stopping place of automobilists when passing through the village, as well as for the accommodation of his regular patrons.

NEW SALEM, SOUTH END

DELANSON
Sunday evening there was a large congregation at the M. E. church. The pastor, Rev. A. J. Schloop, preached a fine sermon and held his listeners for a longer time than he generally does, owing to the fact that the speaker who was to follow the regular sermon had not arrived. In due time he came and all listened an hour or more to a Klansman who gave a very interesting talk on the Ku Klux Klan, which every one seemed to enjoy.
