Learn about Guilderland Center’s rich history
To the Editor:
Please accept this invitation to join us for the monthly meeting of the Guilderland Historical Society to be held at the Mynderse-Frederick house in Guilderland Center located on Route 146 on March 21 at 7:30 p.m.
The presentation this evening will be made by Mary Ellen Johnson, Guilderland town historian. The subject will be the hamlet of Guilderland Center.
This part of town has a rich history centering around the origins of the town of Guilderland in 1803, the Mynderse-Frederick House, the cobblestone school, and the railroads as well as the Schoharie Turnpike where the Palatines made their way from the pinelands through what was then Knowersville, now Altamont, and over the hill to the Schoharie Valley.
Mary Ellen’s presentations are always well received..
Please join us and meet some other great people.
