To the Editor:

The Presbyterian Church at New Scotland invites the community to join us in celebrating our Scottish roots the weekend of the Scottish Games in Altamont this month.

On Sunday, Aug. 31, the church will be hosting a traditional Scottish-American service that recognizes our Scottish forebears. There will be a bagpiper and plenty of tartans, thistles, and heather on display, not to mention Scottish shortbread for all to enjoy.

Even if you aren’t of Scottish ancestry, come and join the festivities. The service begins at 10 a.m. and will feature a speaker from the St. Andrew’s Society.
