Three Trojans charged in armed robbery

Seventeen Hundred Designer Residence on Route 20 advertises itself as offering luxury apartments in the heart of Guilderland. An armed robbery occurred at that address on Feb. 18, Guilderland Police say.

GUILDERLAND — A Guilderland man using a dating app was identified as a target for armed robbery through the app, according to a release from Guilderland Police.

Karina R. Carroll, 24, of Troy, met the victim through the dating app and knew the robbery would take place, police said. The Guilderland man was with Carroll when he reported two men approached him, displayed handguns, and stole his vehicle, money, and personal property.

Guilderland police received a report of the robbery at 1700 Western Ave. at about 8:12 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18, and undertook an extensive investigation with Troy Police and the Capital Region Crime Analysis Center.

Ultimately, Carroll was arrested along with two 18-year-olds, both from Troy: William G. Camino and Terry D. Adams. All three were charged with first- and second-degree robbery, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree conspiracy, and petit larceny.

All three suspects were arraigned in Guilderland Town Court on March 14, remanded on the charges, and then returned to Rensselaer County’s jail where they are incarcerated for charges in Rensselaer County.
