Would you please consider sharing what you have with others?
To the Editor:
The Helderberg Family and Community Organization is sponsoring a food drive to benefit: Hugs for the Hilltowns (Helderberg Lutheran Church); Rock Road Chapel Holiday Outreach Program (Knox); Hilltowns Community Resource Center (Westerlo); and The Little Free Food Pantries (in Berne and Knox).
We are all facing the challenges that much higher prices are having on our budgets. These challenges are especially hard on seniors and families with limited incomes. Would you please consider sharing what you have with others?
Our 2023 Spring Food Drive is ongoing through April 8. Nonperishable food items may be dropped off during regular business hours at: Altamont Country Values-Agway, Berne Public Library, Fox Creek Market in Berne, Helderberg True Value ibn East Berne, or the Westerlo Public Library.
Suggested donation items include: applesauce, boxed or packaged potatoes, quick bread baking mixes, stuffing mixes, canned corn, pie crust, canned pie filling, applesauce, macaroni and cheese, tuna, and cereal. Of course, any non-perishable food items or personal care items are appreciated.
Monetary donations are also accepted and may be sent to HFCO, Post Office Box 115, Knox, NY, 12107 or through Venmo @HelderbergFCO. For checks or Venmo, please note “Food Drive” in the memo line. All donations will be used, in their entirety, to help feed our neighbors.
We thank you for your consideration and your kindness.
