GLENMONT — Thomas E. Stevens died peacefully the evening of Saturday, March 11, 2023, of complications from a stroke that began January of this year. His wife, Debbie, was at his side. He was 73.

He was born on July 2, 1949 to the late Raymond L. Stevens and Emma Daisy (née Bunzey) Stevens of Knox. He began his career as a construction equipment mechanic, a parts and service representative, then eventually went into sales.

“He shared his passion with customers and co-workers alike, who all became cherished friends,” his family wrote in a tribute. “To quote one of his customers: ‘Tom was a good man and a better friend.’

“His hobbies included restoring vintage cars and hot rods, going to local car shows, along with snowmobile racing and trail riding on Tug Hill. He loved using his tractors around the home for mowing and brush hogging.”

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Debbie; by many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews and in-laws.

As he requested, his body will be cremated, with no calling hours. A memorial in his honor will be announced at a future time.

“Debbie wishes to thank Caitlyn, RN and all the staff of hospice home care, for their support and guidance at this difficult time,” the tribute said.
