Marcy L. Ashline

ALBANY — Marcy L. (Crosier-Grippin) Ashline of Albany, formerly of Berne, died on Thursday, March 9, at St. Peter’s Hospital with her loving family by her bedside. She was 60.

Born in Albany on July 11, 1962, she was the daughter of Margaret and the late George Lagrange-Crosier. She was the beloved wife of John Ashline.

“Marcy was a longtime resident of Berne,” her family wrote in a tribute. “Graduating from Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School in 1980, Marcy went on to further her education at the Hallenbeck School of Business.

“Following her educational career, Marcy went on to enjoy a long-time career with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance from which she was able to retire at the age of 55.

“After marrying John, the couple moved from Berne to Colonie and eventually settled in the city of Albany. Following the purchase of their home, John did all the refurbishing while Marcy was busy with the decorating and enjoying the task of mowing the home’s lawn and planting flowers.

“Marcy was a devout Baptist. She attended service in the First Reformed Church in Berne and enjoyed events at the Baptist Church in Westerlo. Throughout her life, she studied the Bible and ministered to the importance of faith in other’s lives.”
