Anthony M. Delligan Jr.

EAST BERNE — Anthony “Tony” M. Delligan Jr. of East Berne died peacefully with his family by his side at his brother’s house on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, under hospice care. He was 60.

Son of the late Anthony “Tony” M. Delligan Sr. and Mary F. (née McCullough) Delligan, he was born on Sept. 11,1962 in Albany.

He was raised in the Berne area where he attended Berne-Knox-Westerlo schools.

“Tony loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed getting tattoos and his Harley Davidson motorcycle,” his family wrote in a tribute. “Tony would act tough but he had a heart of gold; he would help anyone that needed it.

“All you had to do was get him a pack of cigarettes and he was good to go. Tony also liked working at John O’Mara trash removal as a truck driver. Tony leaves behind those who will cherish his memories.”

Anthony “Tony” M. Delligan Jr. is survived by his brother, Bill Delligan, and his wife, Stacy, of Delanson, and by his two sisters, Patty Lilienthal of Eugene, Oregon and Tina (née Delligan) Koons and her husband, Wally, of East Berne as well as by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is also survived by his long-time girlfriend, Louise Earl, who was a big part of his life.

His parents, Anthony “Tony” M. Delligan Sr. and Mary F. (née McCullough) Delligan, died before him, as did his sister Jacki “Jaybird” Olejnik, his niece Ashley Sammons and his nephew William “Willie” Houser.

His family will be holding a celebration of his life at a later date and time.
