Second school bus accident in Guilderland, no injuries

GUILDERLAND — On Monday morning, in the second minor school bus accident this month, again no students were injured.

On Feb.13, the Route 41 bus, serving Altamont Elementary School, was hit at the intersection of Route 146 and School Road in Guilderland Center, according to an email sent at 9:30 a.m. to “GCSD Families.”

A car was rear-ended by a third vehicle, which subsequently pushed the first car forward into the school bus, the notice said.

Guilderland Police and Guilderland Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene along with the district’s transportation department. All students were medically cleared at the scene by EMS, the notice said.
The earlier accident occurred on Friday morning, Feb. 3, when the Route 11 bus on a run to Farnsworth Middle School was hit after a car crossed into its lane, temporarily stopping traffic on Carman Road.
