WESTERLO

A very interesting Thanksgiving sermon was given in the Reformed church Wednesday evening by the Rev. Dr. Twitchell of the Westerlo Baptist church. Dr. Twitchell’s thoughtful interest in the children, his kindly pleasing manner toward everyone and his sincere and sterling ideas of the Scriptures are witnesses of a beautiful Christian spirit.

VILLAGE NOTES

Matthew Tice, our genial barber, the oldest business man in Altamont, finished his 45th year on Wednesday evening. He says he was sentenced to fifty years of service and got five years off for good behavior. He promises to make up the five years if health permits. Mr. Tice is 69 years old and has seen the many changes that have taken place in our village.

SOUTH BERNE

We were glad to hear that Mr. Kinnaird has secured his dog from parties at East Berne. As we saw the advertisement in your columns we surmised it was through your valued paper he was recovered. The little fellows of the family were overjoyed to have their pet again.
