Scouts collect 692 items for Altamont pantry

To the Editor:
On Saturday, Nov. 5, Altamont Boy Scout Troop 264 held its annual food drive and bottle collection. Thank you to all of the Scouts, leaders, and parents for their hard work and time spent to help those who are in need in our community.

All of the food, toiletries, and household items collected (692 total) were donated to the Altamont Community Food Pantry. This significantly helps to keep the pantry shelves stocked, in the near term and for some time after.

Thank you to the generous community members who came out and dropped off donations. What a beautiful fall day it was! We are so very grateful to all.

Anyone in need of food assistance, please either call the office of St. Lucy - St. Bernadette’s church at 518-861-8770 or the food pantry at 518-861-6542. Someone will be in touch to schedule an appointment.

The food pantry is currently open on the first and third Mondays of each month with appointments for either pick-up or in-person, typically from noon to 5 p.m. Hours may vary so it is best to call ahead.
